Disney has announced that in celebration of Walt Disney’s birthday on December 5, guests visiting EPCOT will be able to visit Dreamers Point in the World Celebration neighborhood.

The "Walt the Dreamer" statue represents Walt later in his life when he was dreaming up the overall Florida Project and the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. He sits with a sense of fulfillment, enjoying the beauty of his realized dream: a park that represents pure optimism and truly celebrates the magic of possibility.

This new statue of Walt is part of World Celebration Gardens where Disney says "guests will be able to relax, unwind, and connect – to EPCOT, to nature and to each other." Each of the gardens found in the center of World Celebration, including Dreamers Point, will connect back to the areas surrounding them, drawing on the architectural legacy of EPCOT, modern lighting elements and a variety of natural textures.

December 5 will also see the debut of the new EPCOT nighttime spectacular 'Luminous.'

Two new rides and a cessation of a Food Festival during the Summer. If that's evolution, they're doing it wrong.

Coming soon (probably) to The Seas with Nemo and Friends - Cars: A Musical Celebration.

Well they did it and look stupid…cause that’s awesome, right?

It’s less of a complete park today than it was in 1998… Our standards need re-evaluated.

nah its still a great theme park, but with more food options...thats not a bad thing imo. Epcot always felt like the adult park where they focused on eating drinking and ambience more than rides and thrills. But they added a few great rides over the last years so its gotten a bit better in that regard as well

The continuing evolution of Epcot from a theme park to the world’s largest food court.

One would assume it’s a mishmash of things that sell really well (ie highest prices/margins) from the 345 days a year of festivals I’m not in love with it…but it’s also not the worst idea ever If they’re smart…big If…they rotate it seasonally to not cross with the festival booths…it’s a good idea. If it’s set stuff and they just push volume…not so much.

I’m hoping that they have the empanada that the Encanto booth has during Festival of the Arts. That is one of my favorite festival foods!

Define festival favorites. Thanks.

I hope none of the VPs have heard of this thus far!!

Can't wait until all the VPs come strolling through and realize what a stupid idea it was to knock down West Communicore and the fountain in the first place.

I think it'll do well. With the sitting areas, some shade and chargers, people will probably want to grab a bite and a drink while there.

Idea A+... Execution of the space... hmmm.... I do think this would be an amazing use for Odyssey.
