Disney announced today that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open to guests at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in the summer of 2024 and at Disneyland later in 2024.

Splash Mountain had its last day of operation on January 22, 2023, and a summer opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure represents an impressive timeline for the reimagining effort, months ahead of the original "late 2024" announcement.

The earliest and most optimistic estimates place opening around Memorial Day (late May) at Magic Kingdom, but Disney has yet to make any announcement beyond "Summer 2024."

There will also likely be various rounds of previews for Cast Members, Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, Club 33, and it remains to be seen how the soft openings will fit into the timeline.

Disney also today shared a first look at the Tiana audio-animatronic that will be part of the attraction and also confirmed that there will be dozens of entirely new Audio-Animatronics figures. Along with Princess Tiana, Louis and Mama Odie, we will also see Eudora, Charlotte, Prince Ralphie, Prince Naveen, and others.

Watch the video below to see the new Tiana Audio-Animatronic in action.

The "coming soon" posters surrounding Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom have also now been updated to include the new Summer 2024 opening.

With Princess Tiana at the helm, this new attraction “digs a little deeper” into her story after the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “The Princess and the Frog.” It is Mardi Gras season at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the bayou will light up for a journey full of music, Mama Odie’s magic, and a whole boatful – log-ful? – of new friends, in preparation for a celebration where everyone’s welcome.

This seems counterintuitive if the push was for this to drive summer attendance. Waiting until mid-May to announce a June-ish opening date seems unhelpful in that regard.

Okay, guys. Nobody tell him what happened after Beauty and the Beast! 🤫 Disneyland's doing a second round of the 50th celebration?

The only thing I geninuely things I don't like are the canvas and some of the sign themes. Whether or not they are really authentic to that era, I'm not sure. I just think they feel so off and so much more "modern" than the rest of the themeing to me. Besides that I'm glad it's all coming along, I just hope for a release date soon. Everyone of these holidays makes me anticipate a date but I guess we'll have to wait even more.

It appears the tiara on the water tower in Disneyland has a different finish vs the one in Magic Kingdom (via this post on X from Splash Mountain Archives). First photo is from Disneyland, second is from Magic Kingdom yesterday.

What a disaster! That yellow trashcan looks so bad. And why would they have a ladder in the middle of the queue? What are they thinking?! And those orange cones don't seem to go with the theme at all! And just having brown walls in front of things really takes me out of the atmosphere. This is going to be terrible. Disney has really gone to pot! (/s if it's not obvious.)

According to Drew's posts (I trust Drew) HtH has to happen before, and the announcements will likely last a good portion of the week just looking at previous years. I'm very sure just looking at stats (and know because I know the date lol) that it's not tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised if they also announced the opening date tomorrow along with Halloween stuff. Disney likes to do a lot of these news dump days so I can definitely see tomorrow being a news dump full of a bunch of stuff. But they're also very unpredictable when it comes to this sort of stuff or at least unpredictable to me.

The newest addition in the queue is the "children garden," as well as the walls being pushed back near the entrance for some breathing room in the walkway. There's no log testing on weekends (as of now) but everything was lit up!

Absolutely, you are correct, yet their "plan" they have decided on has meant for Halloween to be announced before Tiana, for whatever reason. Now that this is happening, Tiana will follow.

They could have announced an opening date as soon as they knew it. They didn't have to wait for anything else to be announced first.

With all of this entire storyline advanced from the plot of the original film, we don't yet know if Tiana's Hot Sauce and Foods factory will survive the great depression.... Or did Tiana's Palace close down due to the crash, and the Foods factory was a next step in rebuilding with the New Deal?

Not as a part of the Halloween announcements, but the Halloween stuff finally being announced is what we had to get before the opening date can be announced. Now that this is happening, we are golden. I do not know any information about the Halloween announcements, but what I *do* know is that these had to happen *before* the Tiana date is announced. Yep, presumably going to light up the Tiana's Foods sign. It should be going up any day now.

Is the spot up at the top of the building where a light will go?
