Epcot Future World East Construction Walls - January 2020
Posted: Friday January 31, 2020 11:09am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

As January comes to an end, here is quick rundown of the latest changes to the construction wall maze in Epcot's Future World.

The central core of Future World is now effectively an island and walled off from all sides.

It is no longer possible to walk straight through the center of the park alongside Mouse Gear.

Approaching from World Showcase, the construction wall has been moved forward to seal off the area.

Over at Future World East, the walkway to Guardians of the Galaxy has reopened.

Guests can now get a good look at the new paint scheme on the former Energy pavilion building that will now serve as much of the queue and boarding area for the new coaster.

More walls block off access to the former Wonders building, which is now being converted into the new Play pavilion.

At the other side of Future World East, the walkway across from the breezeway exit, past the playground and to the center of the park has reopened.

The restrooms along the walkway remain closed however.

The next phase of changes should see the walkway open by Gateway Gifts and Guest Relations leading to Future World East.

You must be new here… If they aren’t complaining, its a rarity.

Two new rides and a cessation of a Food Festival during the Summer. If that's evolution, they're doing it wrong.

Coming soon (probably) to The Seas with Nemo and Friends - Cars: A Musical Celebration.

Well they did it and look stupid…cause that’s awesome, right?

It’s less of a complete park today than it was in 1998… Our standards need re-evaluated.

nah its still a great theme park, but with more food options...thats not a bad thing imo. Epcot always felt like the adult park where they focused on eating drinking and ambience more than rides and thrills. But they added a few great rides over the last years so its gotten a bit better in that regard as well

The continuing evolution of Epcot from a theme park to the world’s largest food court.

One would assume it’s a mishmash of things that sell really well (ie highest prices/margins) from the 345 days a year of festivals I’m not in love with it…but it’s also not the worst idea ever If they’re smart…big If…they rotate it seasonally to not cross with the festival booths…it’s a good idea. If it’s set stuff and they just push volume…not so much.

I’m hoping that they have the empanada that the Encanto booth has during Festival of the Arts. That is one of my favorite festival foods!

Define festival favorites. Thanks.

I hope none of the VPs have heard of this thus far!!

Can't wait until all the VPs come strolling through and realize what a stupid idea it was to knock down West Communicore and the fountain in the first place.

I think it'll do well. With the sitting areas, some shade and chargers, people will probably want to grab a bite and a drink while there.
